Weekly drop-in sessions

Drop-in sessions run every Friday, 3 - 4 pm, Room G19, 15 Innovation Walk (opposite Cinque Lire cafe).

Please drop by to mingle with other data fluency community members.

Show people what you are working on, ask for help or share your expertise with others.

On the last Friday of the month we will also be host a book club and a coding / data analysis challenges. These may also sometimes feature a seminar from 2pm.

Data Fluency Book Club

After the presentation by our guest speaker we will be hosting the Data Fluency Book Club. In this month’s book club we are aiming to finish “R for Data Science”, mainly focussing on the section on modelling, Chapters 22-25. Hadley and Garrett have made a very interesting attempt at rendering this important topic intuitive http://r4ds.had.co.nz

Please feel free to share your data images on Slack, and we will show them on the projector during the book club.

Data Fluency Drop-In Session: Friday 22nd Jun, 2pm - 4pm Book Club - R for Data Science (3 pm) Our “R for Data Science” book club discussion continues. Come sharpen your R skills by discussing the content with R experts in the community. This time we will be discussing chapter 7 of the book: Exploratory Data Analysis. Has your data ever surprised you with the story it told? Has visualizing changed how you subsequently analysed or modelled it?

(Unfortunately Matthew will ill and couldn’t make it - hopefully at a later date !)
